Orixás Restaurant

After a decade of research, Casa Orixás has been founded in 1978 in a colonial village of EMBU DAS ARTES in São Paulo, Brasil, by Erich and Graça Steffen, with the purpose of study, development and preservation of Brasilian culture in its Amerindians, African and European bases at anthropology, arts, music and culinary fields.

In the 80’s, after many cultural activities, the Casa Orixas de Embu gave their support to the production and Art Galleries marketed over 5.000 art works of the most representative of Brazilian Culture. Most of these works were acquired by European collectors and were photographed and cataloged. In this 25 years of activities, the Casa Orixás was responsible for the deployment of Orixas Restaurant, two Art Galleries, the Espaço Cultural Quiriri(House of Culture), the Museu do Indio(now located in Europe) and workshops of sculptures and art in Sitio da Cachoeira( nowadays Espaço Mataganza, where is located TGB).

In the 90’s, it was deployed the Casa Orixás in Sintra-Portugal.

With “a la carte” or buffet services, the most typical dishes from different regions of Brazil, as Feijoada, Moqueca, Vatapá, Bobó and others. They are serveds for girls dressed typically.
